ORIENTATION DAY 4
DAY 4 @ MTTC
First session
First class was Gibi ma'am. Few days before teacher gave us a task to interact with maximum number of students in five minutes and write the motivational or inspiring advices given by them. Today teacher asked us to write at least five of that motivational words in our note. I got 21 inspirational words of which the five are
Smile at your faults, Achieving starts with beginning, Be positive, Keep smiling and Believe for good things.
She also gave idea about aim of education and the way to achieve it. A teacher should have 3 type of competencies.
* Subject competency
* Teaching technique competency
* Knowing the learner
A teacher should have knowledge on subject which he or she teaches and also should have the ability to transmit it appropriately to the students by understanding the learner.
Second session
It was taken by George sir, he asked 5 students of each optional to take part in a minor game ( snatching the ball ) in the auditorium. Sir put a ball in the middle of the stage and placed two opposite teams and give numbers 1 to 5 for each of them. Later sir calls a number and the students with that particular number in both teams can snatch the ball in middle of stage. Those who snatches get one point. But when the person who snatches the ball was catched by opposite member , that point will go to the opposite team. Thus we all enjoyed the session very much.
Third session
It was taken by Joju sir. He gave us many basic important points for molding a good teacher. One which striked me most is that A teacher is a wound healer, he heals the wounds or scars in the hearts of students and a teacher is a mind manager. He also gave us things we must acquire to become a good mentor, they are acquire knowledge, mould a big heart, take duties with confidence which others think as a burden, kill the inhibitions, Be empathetic and make life based on values.
Values should grow beyond rights.
"The child's mind is not a bucket to be filled with Knowledge, but a lamp to be lightened."
Finally at the end of the day, we had a super, power pack performance of our MEd seniors, they made the auditorium energetic. They treated our eyes and ears with thrilling dances, skits and music.
